Some important changes are taking place over in the Enlightenment camp.

These will affect the way Enlightenment packages are stored and distributed and will require some changes to the easy_e17 script - and therefore to the OzOS update and restore programs.

No action is necessary for you to keep using your OzOS - just avoid doing any manual e17 updates for a week or so until normal service is resumed.

This will not affect any other packages or updates from your repos - you can still apt-get update and apt-get upgrade.

(Note: this is precautionary.  It is likely that nothing bad would happen if you did update or restore, but better to be safe than sorry!)

Has this issue been resolved yet? I haven't been able to find any posts stating that it has.

Short answer is NO.

Our Chief Coder and e17 Guru (Rui Pais) has been having a well-deserved break far from civilization.  He is returning very soon and will update us on the svn/cvs issue as soon as he gets the scorpions out of his luggage.  I'm pretty sure everything is OK (ie it wouldn't break anything) but there's no real point in using the standard update since the cvs were frozen on 18 August.

Hi,
I was looking in new packages from the repository and i found: e17-svn
is this what you're talking about?
I found it weird because my e17 is e17-cvs 0. 6. 0. 1 and this package is e17-svn 0. 6. 3.
 Huh?

Hi janosimas

Yes, the svn patch was uploaded earlier today but Rui's announcement and new How-To got a bit buried under all this newfound social interaction Cool

Here's the thread you need:

http://cafelinux.org/forum/index.php/topic,1899.msg6304.html#msg6304

Please bear in mind that this very new and has only been tested on our less valuable members (me).  But we do need bug reports.

I have found that the svn servers (and some of the updated code) are not as reliable as the previous system. I was able to recover via backups fairly easily.  As of this morning the svn code was fine and the servers were online.
