This is the start of a thread about creating or modding e17 themes. We have also created a static web page where you can see and download members' themes: Enlightenment Themes for OzOSHere is my first post on the topic of theming I was trying to find a green theme to go with some wallpaper I made. Using Rui's post here, I struggled through editing the image files in the night_bling-45 theme and this is what I have managed so far: I think it is getting there - just a couple of dozen little images to go!

Amazing Aubrey, how come you never went into E17 theming? This theme is one of the only themes I like, and I like only a few on the E17 art sites. You seem to take your time and perfect your theme unlike the people at e17 stuff. Just one piece of advice though. Don't use that background on the menus, it looks terrible when you have a large menu like the third menu your showing in your menu tree.

I like this one in particular! very beautiful and relaxing on the eye Yesterday i was here on the verve of either shut, smash my computer with an ax or do something else an i opt by play around (well i opted by the opposite, but i hadn't a gun or an ax in my house) with a new theme, a full integrated e17 and gtk theme. See pic. In attach there is my 1st. version of theme (pics 3 posts above). (Instructions: Click the link to download the attached edj file (BrownEmerald.edj). Save it to folder ~/.e/e/themes. Use Configuration>Theme from the Main menu and don't forget to click/change to 'Basic' to avoid the FTB, Famous Theme Bug The gtk theme can be installed by: sudo apt-get install oz-suggested-themes and use gtk-theme-switch2 to set it. It's call Orange-LiNstaBlackPlastic) Member Eye-Candy Themes

Ahh, e17 theming as therapy! We should form a support group. See pic. I'll put up when it's done. It looks wonderful (and will be very nice against my "Folded Wood" background.) I am still working on my green version - I am delving into edj to theme the taskbar.

Hey, how nice to see people interact, collaborate and play around with each others ideas and resources This is turning in to a real Members Eye-Candy!! Ahh, e17 theming as therapy! We should form a support group. you can say it again Aubrey... true therapy (i cheating, of course, since i just patch my old themes with new graphical elements, so it's just gimp work) It looks wonderful (and will be very nice against my "Folded Wood" background.) I am still working on my green version - I am delving into edj to theme the taskbar.
Yep, they match well, and make the "glassy" look of theme a little less cold and shinny. How about a series (of 6) of wood/land/lava tone/textures? Good look for the green version! I think window buttons are visually too heavy, specially when there are many windows open on screen, and too much close to old BlingBling theme... just a personal preference comment. I like the general color tones! In add a 1st. version of theme on original post above.Member Eye-Candy Themes

OK. By Popular Demand (well one anyway), here is: green_bling_.011.edj (updated) for your theming pleasure. Preview:(click for download) As shown here it is teamed with the MurrinaGraphiteGentle GTK theme. (A full sized preview image is available here) (Instructions: Click the image to download the attached edj file. Save it to disk. Move it to the folder ~/.e/e/themes. Use Configuration>Theme from the Main menu and select "Personal" - you should see the theme's default background image available in the list.) Member Eye-Candy Themes

Anyone who has a Harley has no right to a Pony!
Ya, that's pretty much what my wife said too. "It's either the bike or the pony, you're choice." (She's lucky she didn't offer me a choice between her and the pony.) I use a lot of nature backgrounds, so, I've been looking for a green theme for a long time. I hope others will enjoy it, as much as I will. Thanks Aubrey, you da man!

@Aubrey Is your theme under GPL? I'm sure the maryan developer would like to use this one and modify it to a bluish white/black theme as the official Maryan Theme. Your themes are awesome! Do you have a how-to on make 'Professional' themes like yours.

Do you have a how-to on make 'Professional' themes like yours. Thanks Molom - Yes, I hereby GPL green_bling_0.1. It's really just a mod of a mod of "bling" (all images retoned and a few little additions by me - like the Oz-ified e logo. I'm happy for Maryan to use a variation (I actually tried it on Maryan before I posted it, just to make sure it was reasonably compatible with other recent builds of e17 - and it was.) As for a How-To - I just used Rui's instructions to decompile an existing theme and then went to work with GIMP. The only edc coding I tried - to get different buttons on a taskbar - failed miserably! Thanks Aubrey, you da man! I thought Rui was the man this week. Did I miss another meeting? I thought it was my turn to be the camel. wham! I'll have to unpick the knitting again. Can someone post a roster please.

This week's roster: Rav (Da man behind the curtain, feeding his wabbits.) Rui (Da man that talks funny, but is really, really smart.) Aubrey (Da creative man - A#1 big guy this week!) OC (Da indentured servant, continuing to work off his debts...)

Always a good method. The only edc coding I tried - to get different buttons on a taskbar - failed miserably!
Strange. What's failing. I can decompile and recompile normally... I thought Rui was the man this week. Did I miss another meeting? I thought it was my turn to be the camel. wham! I'll have to unpick the knitting again. Can someone post a roster please.
Hey. Thats not fair. I was the man last week, i used lumberjack shirts, used my low pitch voice, eat all outdated yogurt on fridge, play poker with male friends discussing football ans women. C'mon i need the rest, i want to knitting a little too, put my beloved pink t-shirts at sound of "I'm too sexy for my boots..." Aubrey must be the man of the week! This week's roster:
Rav (Da man behind the curtain, feeding his wabbits.)
Rui (Da man that talks funny, but is really, really smart.)
Aubrey (Da creative man - A#1 big guy this week!)
OC (Da indentured servant, continuing to work off his debts...)
RAV <- Da man with a forum rabbit powered Rui <- Obnoxious brain quite allergic to English language (words are two,to,too similar two,to which, each, witch others me fills, feels, felts dyslexic) OC <- An Harley Davidson guy, no poneys... uhmmm.... i think we found the man of the next week edit: a quick greenish taskbar

Listen, this is growing better than i thought... how about we split this thread in two 'Member Eye-Candy', one for backgrounds and other themes and extras (like modules theming)? I'll bite, what are you suppose to do with this? OC try: sudo mv /opt/e17/lib/enlightenment/modules/taskbar/taskbar.edj /opt/e17/lib/enlightenment/modules/taskbar/taskbar_ORIGINAL.edj and then copy/mv that edj file to /opt/e17/lib/enlightenment/modules/taskbar/(i'm not sure if there is a simple way of apply themes to modules.. i will search) OK See next post for a better way!
