*** DEPRECATED ***Please see 0.8 version Now available (30/June/2008)Hi all.
An RC of OzOS it's available for download. It's based on Gutsy and it's 64bits.
You can download now: http://cafelinux.org/Downloads/oz-os/iso/
Torrent (click to get your hot OzOS CD)
This release correct/solves some major problems: - Identify OS as OzOS and on grub menu. - Repos of Cafelinux repos works now after install. and - New module "echo" for sound volume by default - Wicd instead of Network-Manager (not useful under e17) - e17 0.16.999.042, - all recent updates of Gutsy - some minor tweaks...
Hardy will be out soon, so i think it's better base the new versions on Hardy. I hope soon i finish 32 and a 64bits on that base.
Hope you liked.

OK, downloading now, on Torrent 100 KB/s . A question: how do I go about installing? I mean, can I update?, I have so many new apps installed on my RC1 that I wouldnt like loosing. Otherwise I should install RC1.2 and reinstall my apps, my home folder is in another partition. Suggestions? thank you. alex

I see you on my Deluge Regrettably there's no way to update from RC1.0 to 1.2. Most changes/updates are on install process and default user definitions... But if you have a separated /home (always a good thing ) you can install RC1.2 and if you want to get back to RC1.0 home just mount your old one as /home or simply copy all with sudo cp -a /old/home/$USER/* /home/$USER/ (you need to adjust first mount point, of course). Post on any doubts

Probably not needed, my /home keeps documents, images, and several apps that run in their own container directories (Lightzone, Rawtherapee), but oh I forgot , my mail and Jpilot data (the 2 most important)... perhaps it would be good to do the copy thing, I mean summing up to the new /home the /old home data as you say (sudo cp etc)

Can I do this? : install RC1.2, determine the new /home in my RC1 actual /home partition, BUT tell the installer NOT to format that one, then hopefully every RC1 will be kept , is this absurd? it could be

Choose manual partition. Specify that you want that partition as /home but Don't put a check mark on format column of installer. Only / needs to be format (If i remember well). Another options: You can use the installer to import old home definitions, you'll just need to copy your docs later. Or, Install RC1.2 without set a separate home. After install you can add the old home partition to /etc/fstab and use the old one.
