OzOS

is a unique, lightweight Ubuntu-based distro using the Enlightenment (e17) window manager.  Available as 64 and 32 bit Live iso images or as a "desktop metapackage" for debian-based distro, OzOS actually downloads, builds and installs the current e17 source code.  After the initial install, a built-in e17 backup and restore utility gives the user total control over how up-to-date they want to be.  This is "bleeding edge" e17 without the blood.  Fully functional but fast and extensible, OzOS is is for those who like their desktop Linux clean, mean and elegant.  Check out the Main OzOS page for more details.

Ubuntu Satanic Edition

is a community developed, Linux-based operating system combining the best software and the heaviest music on one CD. It is based on Ubuntu and uses a Gnome desktop with a dark, blood-soaked feel and exclusive ray-traced screensaver. The CD also contains a 30 minute EP of the best creative-commons licensed heavy metal music from the likes of StabWounD, Auvernia, Frontside, Skaut, Taste of Hell, Scape.Goat and Holy Pain. Both 32 and 64-bit versions are available, plus meta-packages for installing onto existing Ubuntu or Kubuntu systems. See the Ubuntu Satanic Edition Main Page for more details.

New Ubuntu Released

Ubuntu 8.04, the "Hardy Heron" is now out. Matching Kubuntu, Xubuntu and UnbuntuStudio releases have also been released 8.04 is a "Long Term Support" version, meaning you are guaranteed essential updates for three years. There are lots of new features, both "under the hood" and throughout the vehicle, including the all important paintwork.

MaryanLinux

is a brand new distro based on Ubuntu and using the Enlightenment E17 desktop. Amongst the default applications are a range of native E17 apps.  The implementation is very neat.  The first beta release "Aviccenia" is now available and is recommended for anyone wanting to explore alternatives to the major Gnome and KDE distros.  Check out the MaryanLinux Mainpage for details.

Time for some updates

Sorry I haven't been around much lately but I realise its past time to get back to Distropedia.  Thanks be to fistfullofroses for his recent new post on a-Linux.

I'll use this Blog entry as a new to do list.

Feel free to take on anything yourself or add suggestions.

Top Priority: Main Distro Pages

a-Linux

a-Linux is a microdistribution whose goal is to replace all of the packages normally contained in a distro with assembly micro versions. The only non-assembly package AFAIK is the kernel.
