Time for some updates

Sorry I haven't been around much lately but I realise its past time to get back to Distropedia.  Thanks be to fistfullofroses for his recent new post on a-Linux.

I'll use this Blog entry as a new to do list.

Feel free to take on anything yourself or add suggestions.

Top Priority: Main Distro Pages

Just a Quick Reminder to Everyone

Websites that are listed in a static page will not become actual links unless you form it like this:
< a href = "www.cafelinux.org" > www.cafelinux.org < / a >
I added spaces that that the HTML would not be rendered.
Without the href=, it will look like a link, but not actually work.
Since this is not a static page, it does not apply. Links here work fine.

back from vacation

I am back from vacation today, I made some edits to Ubuntu Christian Edition entry, added an image to the book page and made sure all the links work on the main page, I also added a highlighted link to the mainpage from the book page.

I really like the Distropedia link added on the Ubuntu Christian Edition website, I'll need to work on some Distropedia buttons that incorporate the main logo.

Some Major changes for Distropedia

I have made some major changes to Distropedia, that I hope everyone likes.

GoboLinux Acceptance...

GoboLinux Main Page

On gentoo forums and elsewhere, people having been bashing the main idea behind Gobo Linux and the filesystem hierarchy that it employs. Many have a tendency to think that the revisions made were unneeded or that they in some way make the system similar to Micro$oft Windoze. This is totally wrong. There is no registry, it is still true multiuser. The filesystem is totally different. All of the programming is different. The kernel is different. The only thing that makes Linux Linux is the kernel. The hierarchy is a Unix system. Linux is not Unix so why the fuss?

Comfusion Reigns on the Plains in Spain

The distro previously know as Uberyl has been released as Comfusion Version 1.0. To avoid confusion, Comfusion has Compiz-Fusion, wheras Uberyl had Beryl and both are based on Ubuntu.  See the updated Comfusion Main Page for download links.

Welcome Aubrey our Admin from Oz!

Aubrey has devoted much time here, even more then myself so I thought it fitting that he should be an Admin. here on Distropedia.

Aubrey, welcome as Admin. I trust you will help inevitably establish how Distropedia forms, let me know if you need anything.

Is Ubuntu "The One"?

Ancient Linux mythology has, as its central legend, a distro that emerges quickly and powerfully and delivers the masses from the clutches of the M(s)atrix. Debian, Mandriva, Fedora and SUSE have all been the subject of hopeful speculation in days gone by. In hushed tones and in back rooms around the globe, Linux users have recently been heard to wonder "Is Ubuntu The One?".
